Mrs. Oden's Personal Biography

 

 

  • I was born and raised in Alabama
  • While living in Alabama, I particpated in many extra curricular activities.  I ran track, I was a cheerleader, I played an instrument (clarinet), I was a majorette, I played basketball, I played volleyball, I danced in studios, I was an Alpha Sweetheart, I sang in the choir, I played a part in many school plays, I was on a dance team, I played softball, I was a life guard and I spent many hours working in computer labs.
  • After graduating from high school, I attended Auburn University where I graduated with a B.S. in MIS (Management Information Systems)
    • After graduating, I moved to South Carolina where I worked for Sonoco Paper Products Company in for 8 months then moved to Atlanta and worked as a computer comsultant with the State of Georgia DHR for 5 years
    • A few months after moving to Georgia,
    • I have been teaching for 8 years within Rockdale County
    • I obtained my Interrelated Special Education certification from University of Georgia
    • I obtained my MED (Master Of Education) from Troy University
    • I am very close to obtaining my Doctorate of Education from North Central University in Arizona
    • I was the dance team coach for 9 years and I have been coaching of the competition cheerleading squad for 2 years
    • I am happily married to a wonderful man for 13 years ... Mr. Dexter Oden
    • We have a handsome 8 year old son (Dexter II).  You will often see DJ around the school.
    • I truly enjoy working with all my previous students and I look forward to working with more wonderful students in the future. 
    • Finally, I wanted to create this wiki to use in order to communicate with all my students better and this will be used throughout this semester in order to accomplish that goal.

Permission to Participate in Online Projects

Before you can effectively participate in any of the projects that are planned for the year, I MUST HAVE the Parent Permission Form for Collaborative Internet Projects signed and returned before you will be allowed to participate in any class activities that involve using web acquired information.  Until I get this permission slip back, you will not be allowed to collaborate so an alternate assignment will be given.
